here are two examples of different illustration techniques of the same object. the top one is pencil and a micron pen, and the second is with a sharpie.

pen and ink with watercolor

here are two sketches and their accompanying watercolors from today's assignment. i tried to get on the paper just the necessary visual information with the pen and ink work as well as the watercolors. for the bottom lamp base, i blew on the pigment while it was still wet to get the highlights. with the top lamp base, i layered the colors to try to add depth; i also created highlights by taking away wet pigment with a paper towel.
